Meakna Iang, 47, passed away unexpectedly in a tragic incident on Saturday, January 4th, 2020 in her beloved home in Flowery Branch, Georgia.
Meakna, also known as Tina by many friends, was born on February 4, 1972 in Battambang, Cambodia to Yom Touch (father) and Prean Chin (mother). Meakna was only 7 years old when her family escaped to the Thailand camps from the Khmer Rouge in 1979. Meakna and her family were then sponsored to America in 1985 where she graduated from Bassick High School.
Meakna graduated from Renasci Hair Academy in 2003 and pursued a career as a hair stylist. She eventually opened and successfully ran her own shop, Tna Salon, in Sugar Hill, Georgia for over 10 years — from 2009 until her untimely passing.
Meakna married her husband Ty Iang in 1988 and had four loving sons together: Terrence (29), Timmy (24), Austin (21), and Allen (16). Meakna is also survived by her mother, Prean Chin, an older brother Bora Touch, and younger brother, Virak Touch. She is predeceased by her father Yom Touch, two sisters, Mum and Sothea Touch, and oldest brother Ro Touch.
Meakna was diligent, hard-working, and compassionate— but above all else, she was a loving woman who always put the needs and wants of those she cared for before herself. Meakna was deeply loved by all and will be greatly missed.
