Isabella (Smith) McEwan

Isabella (Smith) McEwan, age 95, of Trumbull, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 4, 2022 in her home.  She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph M. McEwan and daughter of the late James and Margaret Smith.  Born in Dumbarton, Scotland, Mrs.  McEwan was an area resident for 72 years and a Trumbull resident for the past 55 years.  She worked for many years as a keypunch/data processing operator, retiring from Bunker Ramo and later St. Vincent’s Medical Center.  Isabel enjoyed life.  She was an avid golfer belonging to the Fairfield Women’s Golf and Bowling League.  She was a member of the Covenant Church of Easton.  Isabel was a true snowbird, enjoying her winters in Florida with her husband Joe and her sister Margaret.  Family was most important to Isabel and she was especially blessed to have lived long enough to know her beloved great grandchildren to whom she was lovingly known as GiGi.

She is survived by her three daughters, Sandra Kozma (Barry Riley) of Fairfield, Patricia Bond (Clark) of Millsboro, DE and Lori-Jo Maisano (Joseph) of Brookfield; two sisters, Margaret Bjers of Fort Myers, FL and Mary Garris of Virginia Beach, VA; sister-in-law Emily Smith of Trumbull; three grandchildren, Bram Kozma (Rosie Key), Kate Lepovsky (Todd) and Kelly Sevilla (Alex); four great grandchildren, Andrew and Mason Lepovsky and Charlotte and Cameron Sevilla; and several nieces and nephews. Isabel was also predeceased by her sister, Elizabeth Gillies and brothers James and John Smith. A Memorial service will be held on Friday December 9th, at 11 a.m. at the Covenant Church of Easton, 1 Sport Hill Rd Easton, CT.
