Isabella (Dirsa) Arquitte

Isabella "Betty" Arquitte, 97 of Bridgeport, left us on December 31, 2022.

She was born in Worcester, Massachusetts, the daughter of the late Walter Dirsa and Bronislava (Naruserricia) Dirsa. She was a lifelong Bridgeport resident. Isabella was a retired bookkeeper from Carlton Convalescent Home. She was an avid gardener, cultivating flowers, vegetables, and fruit trees in her yard. Her home was used as the gathering place for the Dirsa clan, their extended families and friends. She valued family and delighted in time spent together, often orchestrating the many cookouts and holidays. She traveled extensively with trips to Europe, Hawaii, the continental US, Tahiti, New Zealand, Thailand,Taiwan and Caribbean sailing cruises.

Isabella will be sorely missed by her remaining siblings Lillian Fox and family, Virginia Fengler and family and her brother Anthony Dirsa, wife Caroline and family. She will be missed by her daughter, Sheryl Jackisch, her husband, Chuck, and her grandchildren Tanya, Christopher, Michael, and his wife, Maureen Burns. She will be well remembered by her beloved nieces, Christine Holmwood and family, DawnAnn Spictzler and family, Marianne Cone and family. She was predeceased by a special niece, Kathleen, and will be missed by the  Smeraglinolo/Geoghegan families. She was also predeceased by her siblings, her brother George Dirsa, sisters Aldona Van Campen, Adele Schweitzer, Rita Arquitte, Anna Spictzler, and Irene  Dirsa-McDonald, as well as, by her nephew, Michael Spictzler, whom she shared an especially close relationship. She was a devoted aunt to several generations of nieces and nephews and their families.

Friends may visit her family on January 13th, Friday from 930 to 1030 AM in the Larson Funeral Home, Preplanning & Cremation Services, (NOW LOCATED at) 1209 Post Road, in Fairfield Center, followed by her Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM in Holy Family Church 700 Old Stratfield Road, Fairfield. Interment will be in Mountain Grove Cemetery.
