Iris (Nordin) Murphy

Iris was born in Madison, CT on January 3, 1932 to Swedish Immigrants.
Raised in the ELCA Lutheran Church, her faith was at the center of her
being and she raised her three children in the Christian faith.  Iris’
life revolved around her faith and her family and nothing gave her
more joy.  Her other passions were gardening and soil and our pets.
She had a smile that lit up a room. When she had spare time, of which
she had very little in her life, she could be found working in the
garden or with the raspberry bushes. She loved to knit mittens for the
mitten tree at Christmas and for her family and friends.  She was kind
to all and that was reflected in her work as a Nurses Aide, first
caring for many people in the hospital, convalescent homes and then in
Private Duty.    She is survived by her children, Wes Murphy, Susan
Murphy and Keith Murphy (Diane Croll), one grandchild, Jennifer Murphy
Norman Kruse, 4 great grandchildren, one sister; Astrid Colello and
extended family.  Burial will be private with a Memorial Service to
follow in the Spring/Summer 2023.
