Joseph Lusebrink III, devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend passed away peacefully in his home, Sunday, January 10, 2021.
Born August 11, 1948, the eldest son of Herman Lusebrink II and Lillian Greene, he was raised and educated in Bridgeport and Easton. As a highly skilled master toolmaker he worked for numerous companies and on projects including the Hubble Space Telescope. As the economy changed, Joe began a second career in Real Estate. He deeply loved his family. For as long as he was able, he worked tirelessly for their benefit.
A genuine man of numerous interests, he possessed a wide knowledge of many topics. Joe was always available and reliable to lend a helping hand those in need. He was a volunteer fireman first in Easton and then with Trumbull’s Long Hill Fire Company. Later, he became an active member of the Trumbull Center Lions Club.
He considered himself a nightly Jeopardy champ and enjoyed sharing a funny joke or story among his friends and family. An avid fisherman in both fresh and salt water, his church was the water and his worship was his time spent contemplating the scenic beauty observed from an open boat.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 48 years, Ellen; his cherished daughter of whom he was justly proud, Laura; his beloved grandson Cameron; his mother; two brothers; Brian Lusebrink, of Trumbull and James Greene, of Torrington and many nieces, nephews and “his dog” Mylo.
The family would like to thank Lucy Vanderpuije as well as the many compassionate and dedicated people at VITAS Healthcare for ensuring Joe was in the comfort of his home during his final days which he wanted most.
Donations may be made in Joe’s memory to: Long Hill Fire Company P.O.Box 332, Trumbull, CT 06611 or VITAS Healthcare 199 Park Road Ext. Ste. 102 Middlebury, CT 06762.
