Graciela Maria ("Grace") Rodriguez passed away on September 5 following a brief illness.. Grace was a senior law partner at King & Spalding LLP in Washington, D.C., where she focused on government investigations and civil litigation. She was born in Ft Lauderdale, Florida, and grew up in New York and Connecticut. Grace was an outstanding athlete in high school, captaining her field hockey, basketball, and softball teams. An avid baseball fan, she cheered on the New York Mets with her parents, Ruben and Grace, and her sister Susan. After receiving degrees from Harvard College and Columbia Law School ,Grace practiced law briefly in New York before relocating to Washington with her husband John Sullivan. Grace and her husband raised three children, Jack, Katie, and Teddy Sullivan, in Bethesda, Maryland.
In her free time. Grace enjoyed traveling with her family and friends, and collecting art from each of her journeys. She cherished her regular trips to Kiawah Island in South Carolina with her family. Grace was always active, and frequented local parks for long walks and tennis with friends. She is survived by her husband , her three children, her mother Grace, and her sister Susan Rodriguez.
Visitation will be held at the Robert A. Pumphrey Funeral Home in Bethesda, Maryland on Thursday, September 8 from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.. A Funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Jane de Chantal Church on Friday September 9, with viewing at 10 a.m. and services commencing at 10:45 a.m. Another viewing will be held in the chapel at St. Pius X Church in Fairfield, Connecticut on Monday September 12 from 5 to 8 p.m., and a funeral mass at St. Pius X will be celebrated September 13 at 10 a.m. Grace will be buried at Oak Lawn Cemeteryin Fairfield. The family has requested that remembrances be made in the form of contributions to Horizons At Sacred Heart University
