is with great sadness and love to announce that Gary Fuller, Sr., age of 75 of Stratford, CT, passed away on Saturday, July 2, 2022 at Bridgeport hospital in Bridgeport, CT from long-term illness. Gary Fuller was born on October 25, 1946 to Paul Augusta Fuller, Sr. and Jaluhi (Julia) Senitio. Gary resided in Bridgeport his early childhood and most of his adulthood until he relocated to Stratford after his retirement.
After graduating from Warren Harding High School, he joined the U.S. Air Force where he served for four years. Following his honorable discharge, he worked for several well-known organizations such as Aquarion Water Company and U.S. Postal Service. He was an advocate for social justice, racial justice, organizational policy and procedure, and discrimination, but most of all he was a loving, devoted father and grandfather to his children, grandchildren and family from whom he was greatly missed. Gary Fuller was also an active member of the American Legion.
Gary Fuller is pre-deceased by his parents and siblings, sister Maureen Fuller and brother Raymond Lopez. Loved ones left to cherish his memories are his sons Avery Atkinson, Gary Fuller, Jr. and Garrett Fuller, daughter Linda Fuller, grandchildren and siblings: Paulette (Muffie) Patton Fuller, Desiree Scott, Dawnelle Rice, Gino Lopez, Albert (Sonny) Lopez, Melodie Slocum, Albert (Kiki) Slocum, Jr., Charity Fuller Speight, Paul Fuller, Jr., Tavonna Norris and many other family members and friends. Gary had a special bond with his brother Gino Lopez and his nephew Reggie Taylor, whom they adored deeply.
Friends may greet the family on Saturday, July 9, 2022 from 9:00am to 10:00am; a mass of Christian Burial will proceed at 10:00am, all at Larson Funeral Home, 2496 North Avenue, Bridgeport, CT 06604. An interment will follow to St. Michael’s Cemetery, 2205 Stratford Avenue, Stratford, CT 06615.
