Carol Holmes Fraser

July 3, 1939 – October 15, 2022

Carol passed in peace knowing the lord’s arms were open and welcoming.

Carol was predeceased by her parents, Edward and Henrietta (Stoddard) Holmes and sister, Audrey Porter. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Gordon Fraser; son, James Fraser; daughter, Sharon Fraser (Chris Alonzo); granddaughter, Maggie Fraser (Tori Leche); and grandson, Vanya Fraser. Carol’s family meant everything to her.

Carol was a longtime member of First Presbyterian Church of Fairfield where she served as an elder of the session, a deacon and a lector. She looked forward to going to services each week, even when her illness kept her home and she watched virtually. Carol was honored to have been a part of First Presbyterian and so grateful for the many friends she made there.

Carol had a love of travel and was fortunate to have visited most U.S. states, most countries in Europe, all of the UK, many islands in the Caribbean, and various other countries. Her favorite memory of all her travels was riding in a gondola in Venice, Italy with her husband, Gordon, listening to the gondolier serenading them.

Carol also adored animals and was a great supporter of animals in need. Carol and Gordon had several pets of their own and she adored her children’s and granddaughter’s pets.  All of the dogs knew that Grandma carried a bag of treats with her and they would crowd around whenever they saw her.

A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held on Saturday, November 5 at 1:00 at First Presbyterian Church, 2475 Easton Turnpike, Fairfield, CT. Carol asked that her family and friends share a cup of tea in a pretty teacup and a scone and tea sandwich immediately following her service at the church.
