She was born on a potato farm in Stockholm, Maine, and loved to talk about her animals and escapades with her family.
They were a tight knit family and she was one of 11 children born to Evelyn Peters and Antoine
Michaud. Norman Michaud of Trumbull, CT is the sole survivor of the Michaud siblings: Clarence,
Robert, Clarice (Mary Rose), Lauretta Patterson,** Gilman (Joe), Herman, Rita, Jeffery, and
Blenda (Lynch) Michaud.
Anita and John Carroll had six children: Michael J. Carroll, Sr, Catherine Pramuka, Gregory Carroll,
Elizabeth Curtis, Evelyn Carroll-Caron and Patrick Carroll. Anita sadly leaves behind 13 grand-
children and 8 great grandchildren.
Anita moved to Cape Cod and loved life by the ocean. Maplewood of Brewster, in Brewster, MA
was her home for the past four years. Prior to that Anita lived on Senior Drive in Monroe, Connecticut and loved traveling, cooking,
gardening and being outdoors in every season. She had a passion for walking, and helping those in
need, and those that just looked like they needed her help. She was a friend to all.
Anita shoveled out neighbors on Senior Drive, they admired her gardens, and she helped every
where she went. Her experience while living at Maplewood at Brewster was of a wonderful way
of life and she was full of energy.
Eventually we all get tired, and when Anita got tired, the entire world seemed to slow down as well.
If she were here she would say, "Let's just take a rest, you've done enough. Tomorrow is another day."
She was truly an optimist and loved living every day to the fullest. She gave this world more than she
took, and those who knew her were lucky. She was an exceptional human being and remained and ended
her life a happy person. I am forever grateful to have her as my mother and friend.
