Andrew E. Prucinsky age 86 of Bridgeport passed away peacefully at his home on August 27, 2021. He was the loving husband of Diane Michaels Prucinsky for 64 years. Born in Bridgeport on June 14, 1935, he was the beloved son of the late Andrew G. and Lucy Wydra Prucinsky. Along with his father, he was the owner of Perkins and Sons Roofing Contractors. Andrew enjoyed spending time with his family and was a die-hard Yankees fan.  Andrew was a simple man, meat and potatoes type of guy. He had many passions in his life besides his wife and kids. He was extremely fond of animals his whole life. He had many dogs, Bootsy I, BootsyII, Brandy and Bailey. He also was fond of  cats , he had many but two favorites were Misty and Buddy. He had a great passion for the outdoors. He enjoyed Hunting and entered competition Trap shooting events which he won many awards. He was at his happiest being out in the fresh air. He was also an avid boater and water skier, had his own boat and the families spent many years together at the Lake. Andy was also a member of the Fish and Game Association in Danbury, he also was a long standing member with his father, and son at the Knights of Columbus, Park City Council on Park Ave in Bridgeport. Over the last 40 years his main sport was bowling, with his wife, son and parents down at the Nutmeg Bowl. He also was proud of the three generations at bowling together. St. Peter’s League, and Sunday family night mixer and Wednesday night Men’s. His greatest passion was his Catholic upbringing. As a member at St. Peter’s Community for over 50 years, he had built many relationships within the Parish throughout the years. Especially with Msgr. Bannon who became a close friend.Over the last decade of his life, he spent most of his time attending his grandchildren; school and extra curricular sporting events, he was so proud of them all.He was known to his family as Pop-Pop.  We will all miss him dearly Love you forever.He will be greatly missed and forever in the hearts of his family.
In addition to his wife, Andrew leaves behind his beloved children Katherine (Kitten) Doce and husband Rich, Debbie Samperi and husband Chris, and son Glenn Prucinsky (his buddy). He also leaves his cherished grandchildren, Kaitlyn Doce, Sarah Doce and fiance Dean Loehn, Jillian and Madison Samperi, Jessica (Prucinsky) Deford and husband Mike; great-grandson Lucas Deford; sisters Barbara Sebes, Cathy Koritko and husband Bob; sister-in-law Kitty Midney and many nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly. Andrew was predeceased by his brothers-in-law Donald Sebes and John Midney.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Thursday, September 2, 2021 at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of the Assumption Church , 545 Stratfield Rd,Fairfield. Interment to follow at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery , 1056 Daniels Farm Road, Trumbull. Friends may greet the family on Wednesday, September 1, 2021 from 4:00 to 7:00 at the Larson Funeral Home, 2496 North Avenue, Bridgeport. Face masks are required for the funeral home and the church.
